Voter suppression can never have enough exposure--and hearings might sway a Supreme Court Justice to be responsible.

    Apres Bush, le deluge.

    •  I agree voter suppression is bad. I'm just (0+ / 0-)

wondering if we spend a lot of energy propping up the VRA if the USSC might just overturn it and leave us with a Congress that could never pass a bill that important again.  It might energize a lot of folks and get them up in arms to change Congress to get Dems back into office, but by the time 2014 rolls around there would be plenty of states that would have all sorts of measures in place to keep "the wrong people" away from voting.

There are many, many areas where the DOJ can spend its energy.

Fear leads to weakness--is it ever wrong to fight for what's right?  I'm way more aggressive than most here--started when I avoided Vietnam.  To me, Lincoln was wrong to delay the emancipation--should have been done at the inauguration.   America was wrong not to bomb the rail lines leading to the WWII concentration camps.  Watching Rwanda--and, before that, Biafra--was wrong--devilishly wrong.  Justice delayed--and charity delayed--is justice and charity denied.

        Apres Bush, le deluge.
