    state which tend to be fairly progressive, including the L.A.-Long Beach area, one of the largest in the nation.
       Silicon Valley-Santa Cruz, greater Sacramento, and most of the coastal regions are fairly progressive as well.
        And we've just made some nice gains in Riverside and San Diego Counties, and elected Democratic Super-majorities in both chambers of the State Legislature.
       So, I'd say we're not too bad, even outside of The People's Republic of San Francisco, which BTW, Feinstein is from.

      but I don't consider it especially progressive on the whole. gay marriage, incarceration, death penalty, education, food labeling, etc. - it isn't leading in these areas.
      But it hard for a state this large to be especially progressive.
