    pardoned turkeys really don't get to live that long...

    Because of the way they have been raised and fattened, they usually die within two years ...

    But, as Rachel said about this event, we should celebrate 'mercy' ... we don't do it very often in this country ...

    While I don't believe that total vegetarianism will ever be part of our national diet, I think events like these can be used to make the whole process more humane...

        it's a joke, and people laugh at it.
