  •  All congressmen until END of term should serve. (0+ / 0-)

The lame duck will sometimes have good outcomes and sometimes less so. Those really free to vote without voter repercussions may have for the first time a truly "freeing vote." I do not believe the lame duck Congress should disarm.

And the fact is very rarely do lame duck Congresses do significant policy legislation.

For good reason, the latest election should determine policy.

So we are dealing with 2 contradictory paradigms here:

      1. You were elected to serve until January 20th of Year X

      2. You continue to represent voters who have REJECTED you at the voting booth in November of Year X-1.

The solution, of course, is to hold NO legislative sessions between Election Day and Inauguration Day - which would mean we should swear in new LEGISLATORS sooner - perhaps in December.

Why should we treat presidents and congresspeople the same? I can see delaying the presidential swearing in until January - but why do so with congressional winners?

Sadly, everything Communism said about itself was a lie. Even more sadly,, everything Communism said about Capitalism was the truth.
