It never fails; if an apparent Christian screws up, they're not a Christian.  Which does away with the need for self-reflection -- they can never be in error, since if you are in error, you are excluded from the Elect.

Jews piss on each other all the time, but they don't assume that Jews who screw up aren't Jews.  Schmucks, schmendricks, idiots, or evil sumbitches, but still Jews, nonetheless.

    •  No, Christianity prioritizes forgiveness (0+ / 0-)

and screwing up is expected, so I don't know where you got the idea that Christians are excluded for their sins. Also, Christians aren't an ethnic group. Belonging is contingent on belief. If a Christian makes a mistake, like-minded believers may pray for that person, but not cast them out.

And no, I'm aware that Christianity is a community of faith, and not an ethnicity.

But if you're going with the statement above, you are ignoring the history of your co-religionists.  Christianity, historically, is an intolerant, murderous cult that killed many of my kin, and went to war with the community of Islam and murdered huge numbers of Muslims.  Then, a couple of hundred years later, when they weren't killing Jews, Protestants killed Catholics and visa versa.

Your faith community may talk about forgiveness, but for a religion of peace, the history of Christian civilization is a history of war and of murder.  You don't cast people out.  You kill them.  And in huge numbers.

I'm with Gandhi on this one.  I'm fine with Christ.  It's Christianity and Christians that are the problem.
