    The hardest part is ahead for these communities and I can't say how having much colder weather changes things.  Hugo hit here in September 1989 and we were mostly back on our feet before it got cold and of course it never gets as cold down here as it could up there.  I was younger and stronger.  

    Basic recovery took about a year and roughly three years for nearly everything to get fixed.

    Still, after all this time, I have many good memories and things of which I'm proud now.
