  •  kestrel, i haven't seen your opinion on university (8+ / 0-)

support of RW radio- maybe you gave it to me but i can't remember -

as someone in the biz i'm curious as to the degree to which associating with a university sports team would help a station. i've been around a couple of egs over the last 20 years - for eg KOA, the big limbaugh station in denver, regularly proclaims "850 KOA, home of the Buffs and Rush Limbaugh!"

the local NM limbaugh station might do 10 or 15 or more hours of night time and saturday bball and football broadcasting for UNM lobos.

those stations are known in their states partly by that association.

that association brings the uni some revenue and the stations get community goodwill etc, and local advertising.

i found over 170 limbaugh stations riding 70+ universities but the total (other than limbaugh) stations that depend on Uni sports may be many more and i'll bet as high as 1/3.

in this atmosphere, would, for instance, syracuse univ declaring they won't renew their contract with WABC, be a death blow?

i'd appreciate it if you had any thoughts on this relative to the importance of these associations giving RW radio a market advantage over progressive radio.

    got to go  eat.

This is a list of 76 universities for Rush Limbaugh that endorse global warming denial, racism, sexism, and partisan lying by broadcasting sports on Limbaugh radio stations.
