    One particularly effective technique was to produce the advocacy ad.  Sponsor would articulate their own opinion and call to action, followed by a call to action or support.

    Was very effective for both the radio station and the sponsors.

    It is better to say, "Some radio people don't..." the more savvy ones do.  The original program director for KPOJ was one such radio person who led the station to a nice share, which went downhill the moment he was dismissed.

    Now, that said, I do absolutely agree with you.  Selling hate on a stick is a sure thing.  Not only are those people typically low information, but they really value being validated and normalized, which is what the hate broadcasts do.

    There are costs associated with that, and this movement is assessing some of them.  Truth is, the targets of the hate live less quality lives due to that normalization, and that costs a lot to make a sure thing sure.

    Many in radio know this, but won't say it, instead making many excuses about how righties are somehow more able to appreciate radio...

    If we compare the investment in them compared to the left, it's laughable.  They just don't want to do it, not that it can't be done and be done well, and make the money.
