    From Real Clear Politics:

In his governor’s race, 84 percent of Hispanic voters backed Reid, while just 15 percent supported Sandoval, according to exit polling.
With "Reid" being Harry Reid's son.  There is really nothing to fear.

    •  Lets see what happens in 2014. (0+ / 0-)

Obviously he was going to underperform hispanics with Sharron Angle on the ticket. He carried a healthy 40% of hispanics in his 2002 statewide race.

He also won his election by 12 points. Not insignificant.

      •  Yup. They don't have to win the Hispanic majority (0+ / 0-)

They just have to chip away a little bit of that Hispanic majority that Democrats will get to push them over the edge.

It's a good strategy for the Republicans.  However, I'm not sure they are ready to nominate a Hispanic.  I think that will be all up to the usual fatcat donors to decide, like Adelson and the Kochs, just like they ultimately settled for Romney and foisted him on a base that otherwise hated him.
