    plenty of people choose to work on thanksgiving. But that's a choice and it's usually accompanied by

    - extra wage earnings (like time and a half or double time)

    and

    - no pressure or duress

    these workers were scheduled aren;t getting extra pay and believe that they have little choice except to show up or else be fired.

    at what point do we consider the possibility that these are human beings and afford them simple dignities? here's the irony: when you offer double time for coming in on a holiday, you'd be surprised how many people willingly sign up. But that's not what's happening anymore in far too many places in America. It's  a race to the bottom of the barrel, here, Shanta. And the sooner it's addressed the better.

    For the record, I am not a member of Courtesy Kos. Just so you know. Don't be stupid. It's election season. My patience is short.
