    ...it is illegal for companies to bribe.  Not so in almost all other countries.  lso, bribes paid can be written off as expenses against profits.  USA companies bribe all the they can get away with overseas.  They feel it is the only way to compete in the world against the likes of European countries, India, Russia, China, etc...

    Ignorance is bliss only for the ignorant. The rest of us must suffer the consequences.

      Something to think about. Most all the laws making it illegal to bribe foreign gov't agents or businesses are under 50 years old. That was quid pro quo for ages. Things that would get you hopefully tossed in jail locally you could do overseas with impunity.

        ...European countries, bribes are legal.  Germany companies often outbid US companies byway of bribes, which they do write off...and US companies can't (this doesn't mean US companies don't "bribe" in ways...they can't be caught and they can't write them off)...
