    I make the same basic points myself before reading your comments.

    Koch bought INVISTA, a spin-off of Dupont who invented Nylon and Spandex and branded them under various names.

    After the patents for these products long expired they could no longer uses the brands as cash cows, the spun-off INVISTA to raise cash for core businesses.

    You can avoid the branded products but should not assume other generics are owned by Koch.

    I can honestly say nylon fabric is a ubiquitous material in the world and spandex nearly as common.  

    Lycra and Codura are a small fraction of what is produced and used.

    What about my Daughter's future?
