your review of it, your explanation of the legal ground, and your scattering of Spanish phrases.

When your pops said "Bedtime, mi'jita.  Lights out. Now.", that means you're a minty female rum drink, si?

    My Spanish is very small.

I stole an idea from you. I will be subbing for bookgirl tonight, and I've added a "bookgirl" tag to my draft. Gracias.

and thanks for your super-prompt tipping and reccing of my diary. These things are hard work, when you're a perfectionist!

but your diary was superlative, truly.  i enjoyed it very much and hotlisted to read again.

after i posted this, time seemed to slow to a crawl.  i was a little bit unnerved.  not much time, but when you're a Type A and i think you are, too, the weight of silence is heavy.

procrastination, avoidance and crafty rationalizations. The weight of all that is heavy, too.

Time probably slowed a bit to let you relax and recover.

Thanks for the props on my work.

I like your writing, so I checked out your diaries, to see if you're worth following. I see you've published 17, but only three show up. None of my business; I'm just glad you're writing again.

            Be well, Avila.

i always find fault in every little thing i do, so i used to delete my diaries in moments of frustration.  but i'm trying to not give in to that temptation anymore.

thank you so much, for everything, Brecht.

              •  Perhaps you're a bit more type A than I am. (1+ / 0-)

Still, I was so frustrated last night, wishing I had a few more days to improve my diary. Then I realized this weekly commitment is just what I need, for a while at least, to stop me from getting too precious about each of my masterpieces. There is something healthy about just cranking it out to a deadline. Or at least something I need some of right now.

                You're very welcome, Avila.

sorry, but sometimes i can't find the right word in the language i'm writing in.  sometimes not in either.  i usually make more of an effort, though. ;)

the right words to make your ideas clear. Perhaps you felt hampered with being a bit under the weather. I said felt, not were.

i really enjoyed your diary from yesterday, and would like to read this very intriguing author.  would you recommend any particular book to start with?

          •  Actually, I've only read the one I just reviewed; (1+ / 0-)

bookgirl went on hiatus from Contemporary Fiction Views, and I rushed into the breach. I made a hasty commitment, because I needed a kick in the pants to start writing regularly.

I just happened to have Life & Times of Michael K with me while visiting my aunt in Texas.

From what I gleaned while researching, Waiting for the Barbarians is a powerful read, and Summertime looks like a playful (for Coetzee) excursion. Disgrace is perhaps his most praised book, but some find it hard to stomache.
