    was beautiful -- blue sky, sunshine -- a great day for outdoor activity.

    But the theater was packed.  All seats filled.  

    For roughly 2 1/2 hours, a packed theater sat and watched an extremely verbal film roll out on the passage of the 13th Amendment to the Constitution.  

    Almost nobody got up for popcorn and Pepsi.  

    If you know a high school History teacher, send her or him notice that students would profit from seeing the film.  The 13th Amendment gets cursory treatment in most high school History texts.  Spielberg puts it front and center.  

    Agree with others upthread that come Academy Award time, this film is going to grab the headlines.
