An added problem to tick and mosquito borne  infections being in the "wrong" place at the "wrong" time is that doctors don't look athis possibility.  My daughter was misdiagnosed because she moved to an area unfamiliar with chronic lyme disease and her doctors swore she had multiple sclerosis.  She had the money to go to NY, find a specialist, and get cured.  Others in similar situations will be treated symptomatically for the rest of their lives--5 other s from Seattle made it to the same NY doctor and were cured.
As the weather changes, more diseases will show up at the doors of doctors unfamiliar with the problem.

    Apres Bush, le deluge.

Science is hell bent on consensus. Dr. Michael Crichton said “Let’s be clear: The work of science has nothing to do with consensus... which is the business of politics. Science, on the contrary, requires only one investigator who happens to be right,”
