  •  I would love a movie about Hamilton (5+ / 0-)

The Marie Reynolds affair alone would make one hell of a film, along with the veritable blood feuds he had with so many other Founding Fathers (Adams, Jefferson, Burr, etc.).

    •  His childhood, wartime experience (3+ / 0-)

relationship with Washington, the Federalist Papers, the battle over assumption and the first national bank, etc. A truly fascinating man.

Btw, it's Maria, pronounced like the singer Mariah Carey.

The nullification crisis alone could easily have made a gripping feature film like "Lincoln" and the 13th amendment. And these days it would be resonant.

now might be a good time for some network to think about producing a series of miniseries about the entirety of US history, from the pre-colonial to colonial to revolutionary era to today (well, today as of 2026), culminating with a history that has not yet happened, and including of course Obama's election.

          Proposed series:

          1 - Pre-colonial: Antiquity to 1607 (including Vikings)
          2 - Colonial: 1607-1770
          3 - Revolutionary Era/Early Republic: 1770-1828
          3 - Age of Jackson/Populism: 1828-1860
          4 - Civil War/Reconstruction: 1860-1876
          5 - Gilded Age: 1876-1900
          6 - Progressive Era: 1900-1920
          7 - Jazz Age/New Deal: 1920-1945
          8 - Post-War Era: 1945-1968
          9 - Turbulent Years: 1968-1980
          10 - Conservative Era: 1980-2008
          11 - A New Hope: 2008-?

Obviously, subject to much modification as era lines blur.

of the history of Native American groups, too.

This remains a huge moral issue for Americans and for the nation that needs to be faced and corrected somehow.

I have no solutions at all, but am increasingly aware of the multitude of injustices that have yet to be righted.
