  •  Julie Wells for Governor of Wisconsin??? (2+ / 0-)

Apparently, a couple of Julie Wells's Facebook friends are trying to goad her into running for Governor of Wisconsin. Wells was the Jefferson County organizer of the recall petition signature-gathering effort against Scott Walker.

Wells, to the best of my knowledge, has never held elected office before. She has run for public office at least once before, for a urban Fort Atkinson seat on the Jefferson County Board of Supervisors, and lost.

However, I think Wells, who is currently on the board of directors of the Forward Institute, a progressive think tank, is more interested in going back to college than running for Governor of Wisconsin.

I know that Chris Liebenthal, a Milwaukee-area political blogger, asked his Twitter followers a while back if they wanted him to run for Governor of Wisconsin in 2014, and he's said nothing of that since then. Liebenthal has provided great coverage of the John Doe probe through his blog, Cognitive Dissidence.

I'm sure Wisconsin Democrats can find better gubernatorial candidates than Wells and Liebenthal.

Committed to making sure that Mark Kirk and Ron Johnson are shown the door in 2016!

I'm not so sure Chris would be the best candidate.  I think there would be a lot of strong candidates to run for governor.  Rob Zerban, who ran strong against Ryan for congress comes to mind.  And if Feingold decides, the nomination would be his.
