    I've been surviving on signficantly less, both in NYC and PDX. Folks in my workplaces would be thrilled to be making $13.50. The point made in the piece is not that we expect more, it's that for all the nostalgia and joy columnists and pundits are expressing over the 'return' of manufacturing, it doesn't change anything for American workers since Manufacturing Jobs are no longer synonymous with a steadily improving standard of living.
