    You wrote about the impact of the gay rights movement, and you didn't once mention gay marriage, AIDS funding, or DADT.  Those are all meaningful policy achievements, but you're right; the most important part of the movement was the social impact, the change in how people thought about gay people in a broad sense.

    Which is similar to OWS.  "Ohnoes, what do they want?!?"  Remember that?  Both movements featured policy critiques, of course, but they used those policy debates as rallying points for a broader argument.  Both movements' slogans started with "We're..." or "We are...," not "Do this!"

    Hmm.  I think this theory may have risen to the half-assed level.  Thanks!
