  •  I watched the interview (5+ / 0-)

and I was left with a different response.  He said all the things mentions, but the context was ... different than implied.  He wants to get things done but it felt more like he was blaming the Dems for not getting with the program than stating any new position about the GOP.  Maybe my understanding was conditioned by my intense dislike of the man and his politics, but I felt I needed a shower after the interview ... ya know, all the spittle and foam around the man's mouth and his beady little eyes ...

Wasn't happy with Chris Matthews" cheerleading either ... that is the host's name, right?

but to me it sounded like he was primarily criticizing the Republicans. That may be colored too much by my own feelings and not enough by Simpson's history. I don't know.  It just seemed to me that his tone was essentially different  than the obvious smarmy duplicity we hear from the likes of McConnell and Boehner.

BTW I also dislike Chris Matthews' style. He interrupts guests he disagrees with and fawns over ones he likes.

      •  Maybe I can't get past (0+ / 0-)

the Simpson-Bowles report ... which he cautoin should not be the Bowles-Simpson because of the order of the initials.  It felt like he was still pissed it did not pass and that is really his "solid bi-partisan" answer to all things budget. But that was really a GOP takedown ... thank goodness (never let it be said that occasionally the Teaparty stubborness does not have its good points!) .. so maybe you are right about this being mostly against the GOP.

I hate when people make think this early in the morning.  LOL

I turned the sound off, assuming someone here would diary it for me, so I didn't have to listen to him. Your comments are exactly what I would have thought from that arrogant jacka$$.
