    I have a question. Are the suburbs around Houston diversifying or are they still mostly white Republican strongholds?

      Many of those in the suburbs are buying up property to live closer to downtown Houston, so I'd be inclined to say that white Republicans are infiltrating the urban areas. Many of the suburbs in Houston proper are uber-wealthy residential areas, and I'm not sure that there has been a difference in who's moving in there. In terms of the working class areas (like where I live and work), I think those are becoming more diverse. Those areas aren't really suburbs though. They're smaller cities, some of which have been annexed by Houston.
