    Better yet--how about a donut hole for FICA--tax is halted after present day 110k--and resumed after 200k--thus only affecting top 2%.

      I've seen the donut hole argument floated before.  If a taxpayer making $110k can pay full FICA, why not someone making $115k?  It would be more of a surtax on the top 2%.  Another method of removing the cap might be to scale it upwards, such that the rates gradually decrease as marginal income rises.

      However it's done, I totally agree the cap on FICA should be addressed.

      Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.

        For sure there should not be a donut hole--but if this is what it takes to eliminate the worst part of the cap, let's go with it.  Sometimes public relations trumps what is "best."
