    There's two "gated neighborhoods" for upper-class people and opposite to them is a chain-linked fence. Mind you, not across the street but in the middle of the grassy knoll divider separating the east and west roads of the major route these big houses reside next to.

    Maybe the town's trying to prevent jaywalking except the odd thing is, the chain-link fence extends only to the sections up to a traffic light, which beyond that, is middle-class housing and apartment complexes, and rarely do I see that chain-linked fence on that route in my town anywhere else but those two neighborhoods. And on the opposite side of the neighborhoods are hotel, motels, office buildings, restaurants, gas station, and state wilderness beyond that. Paranoid much?
