Its a consideration...He does appeal to  moderate republicans..and he has won a statewide election.

    •  Tom Perriello, hopefully. (2+ / 0-)

He's young, but Tom Perriello has cred.

Perriello was Special Advisor to the international prosecutor of the Special Court for Sierra Leone, where he worked with child soldiers, amputees, and local pro-democracy groups, and helped to prosecute warlords. He later became the Court's Spokesman and helped to indict Liberian dictator Charles Taylor, peacefully forcing him from power. He has worked as a consultant to the International Center for Transitional Justice in Kosovo (2003), Darfur (2005), and Afghanistan (2007) where he worked on justice-based security strategies. Perriello has also been a fellow at The Century Foundation and consultant to the National Council of Churches of Christ. He helped to launch, Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, and is a co-founder of and, an international on-line community of 3.3 million members, operating in 12 languages, dedicated to building a global response to "problems without borders" such as climate change
I'm ready to cast my lot with Tom Perriello. He has the background and religious cred that's necessary in this state. He's of the same cloth as Tim Kaine (newly elected Senator to replace Jim Webb).

I admire his attitude. more than anything. He's a fighter and a person of stature I would support fully.

Tom comes across as an honest and trustworthy neighbor. Someone you'd ask to keep an eye on your house while you were out of town. He's that kind of guy.

Cooch might be toxic enough that he takes himself out without us.  He's certainly no McDonnell who can create the illusion of suburban moderateness.  Wouldn't want to count on it but the guy causes most Dems and Independents paying attention to back off, so there will be a significant amount of reflexive anti-voting.  Anyone who gives it a run should start with at least an outside chance regardless of how Some Dudey they are.

The two interested candidates are Terry McAuliffe and Tom Perriello.  McAuliffe will have money at least and Perriello has beat a nut on more challenging territory with a lower profile (VA-5 against Virgil Goode).  I'd prefer Tom but I'm voting for whoever has the D in Novermber.
