    Because it crosses an international border it's actually State, rather than the Dept of Energy that is the key player. That surprised me as well.

      Huh, I would have thought the opposite.

      But makes sense that contracts/agreements with other countries would run through the Department of State. Well, if she is nominated and it creates a conflict of interest I am sure the Obama admin will make her divest. No Drama Obama and all.

      pollution from the pipeline itself in our borders.
      In order to beat the pipeline, we need to start by getting the production tax credits for clean energy extended, then we need to push our asses off for an energy/jobs/infrastructure bill that will ultimately make the "tar sands" too expensive to compete.
      Then there's a global agreement that needs to be made, that is serious, that gets China and Inda in as players.

      You can't make this stuff up.
