and didn't want to wait any longer. However, I'll keep that in mind in the future. Thanks for the heads-up.

So, a "minor FAIL," eh? As opposed to a "major FAIL?" I'm not sure how to take that...

Oh, I don't expect everyone to be civil in their comments, but that's OK; that's life. (I'll just ignore them.) I just want to have a good conversation with those who are willing to indulge me. That's not so bad, right?

stop writing diaries. You don't need to wait four years like I did but just stop. Instead start reading what other people write and comment. In six years I have written maybe ten diaries and 22,000+ comments. If you like debate, and I do very much, it's easy to find it in the diaries of others. It will also help you understand the site and its community. You can question others from a conservative perspective if you do it in a very respectful and thoughtful fashion. I don't comment much with my opinions, but I do really challenge people on information that is presented as fact and isn't, or is not accurate. As a newbie you won't receive much respect but you can build a body of work and gain respect even from those who don't share your political philosophy. This is a big tent and supports all Democrats, although the overwhelming sentiments here are progressive.

You weren't hide rated, so not really a fail.

Not bad really, considering you weren't mercilessly attacked, as some are wont to do.
