  •  He's done more damage in my city, (13+ / 0-)

NYC, than I care to think about.

This was where he got his US toehold, first buying the New York Post, the oldest continuously published newspaper in the country, turning it into a right-wing rag not fit to wrap fish, and then pulling strings so he could buy a local TV station too, the first of what would eventually become the Fox (non-news) Network. In fact, I've been wondering about the threatened FCC ruling that would allow cross-ownership in local markets, since we have had exactly that here since the mid-eighties.

IMO, Murdoch has done more to damage democracy and press freedom worldwide than any other living human being, including Dick Cheney. Nothing would make me happier than to see him spend every remaining day of his life behind bars. Looks like Daisy agrees with me, too.

...I want him in prison and kept on life support for as long as possible.

I don't like loathing people (makes ya feel icky, y'know) but for Rupert I'll make an exception.

Freedom isn't "on the march." Freedom dances.

I don't like loathing people either - I think it hurts the loather more than the loathee - but there are cases where it's impossible not to.

We used to play a mind game that was: if you could kill one person in the world with no consequences to yourself, who would you choose? Most people I knew chose Reagan, who was president at the time. I always chose Murdoch. That was almost 30 years ago, and I still wouldn't change my choice.
