    that makes the logistics of the change more complicated.  But I think the basic math is still possible and compelling.

    IMO with all the changes in health care reform, we are probably moving away from employers providing health insurance to employees getting their own health insurance through the new exchanges and employers paying for part of it.  Initially it will mostly be small employers doing this, but I think eventually large ones will do so as well.

    Employer-based health insurance is an American anomaly, coming out of the price controls imposed on wages during WWII which led to companies offering health benefits in lieu of higher wages.  The rest of the industrial world has IMO a much saner approach to health care as a public utility.  I see us moving in that direction by default, if not by intent.
