    Is every Judge defined politically by the President who appointed them? Is it not the case that a President will sometimes oblige a Senator of the other party, by nominating as a District Court judge the Senator's preferred candidate

      That's why the title of the series includes quotes around "partisan", since the political party of the appointing president is just one factor that could potentially influence a judge's decisions.

      But I felt that having an index would be helpful anyway.
