    used to be, a vast inland sea in northeastern California with snow-capped Mt. Shasta reflected in it. Now 1/6 of its original size due to draining it for agriculture, Tule Lake used to host millions of migrating birds and provided fish for the Modoc Indians. What a tourist attraction that would be today, but now the old lake bed provides horseradish.
