    It is so despicable.

I hardly realized what was going on when it happened in 1983.  I was so busy with starting my career, buying my first new car, and all of the things that new college graduates in an exciting new job do.

I remember telling my mother that Social Security would not even exist by the time I was old enough to collect.  So clearly I was brainwashed back then too.   She set me straight, telling me that was nonsense and explaining some things.  And of course when you are twentysomething, you have no idea how important Medicare and Social Security are.  It's one of those things that... how to put this... it's our responsibility to make sure that future generations are protected because they naturally, like we did when we were younger, do not worry about such things.  It's a despicable act to connive and deceive them into undermining their own security in old age.  It's immoral, and worse than that.   And all of it just for more greed and power for people who already have so much.  I have a hard time wrapping my head around it.  And in Simpson's case, I really don't understand the motivation.  Is it just something on his bucket list?  Is he just craving relevance and attention?  It's mind boggling.  Does he really believe his bullshit?
