  •  I'm so proud of myself (6+ / 0-)

and Kishik will be too. I got the snow blower to the front of the garage, had help to move two pieces of furniture into the house and never tripped over a bicycle. I cannot believe the luxury of having space in the garage. This morning Buddha will be gone so I'll put the HOHOHO pieces I rescued from the side of road on her front porch. Then I'll fill up the station wagon with Salvation Army donations.

What would Budha's Christmas be without the HoHoHo showing up on the porch?  LOL.

Sounds like you had a productive Saturday!  You should be proud of yourself.  :-)

For a very brief moment a couple of weeks ago, there was a clean spot in my tiny garage.  It was right after we spent some time properly storing all the gardening stuff that I had just sprawled on the floor for the last two summers.

But then we promptly filled the cleared space with the second car.  Now it's a tighter fit in that tiny garage than it was before it was 'cleaned'  Heh, I don't think I can even get the snow blower out without backing one of the cars out first!

But I am kind of proud of the fact that I've managed to use the space in that little building efficiently enough to fit all of the gardening stuff plus two cars in there.

      •  I've never had a car in mine. :-( (5+ / 0-)

I've have to get a garden shed.

I've got a very bad cold or something from yesterday. It was snowing, extremely damp and cold while I worked in the garage. Now I've got a sore throat, sneezing and I'm freezing and aching. I still have to get dressed and drive up to Buddha's so I can get those out of my car. Otherwise, a lot of people at work tomorrow will be asking questions. :-)

        •  Stay warm! (5+ / 0-)

When you get home, keep warm and make sure you drink plenty of fluids.  Also, take some ibuprofen and acetaminophen today and tonight (alternate them).  They'll help reduce the fever and take the edge off of your aches and sore throat.

You did enough yesterday ... pamper yourself today!!  :-)

and watch a movie or read. Yet the garage is still calling for me. Maybe just a tad more work out there.

            •  Hey, GUG ... (4+ / 0-)

First things first.  The garage will still be there next weekend.  Take care of yourself first!  Don't let this cold get a foothold.  You don't want to get escapee's never-ending crud!

The garage can wait. Follow welso's advice and kick back and take it easy today.

put up the 350 lights on a shrub, placed things in the basement including a kayak, etc etc. I'm paying dearly for it but I'm so happy I got it all done.

and I should just stay down there. I have worn myself out and it's all my fault. Working in the damp cold weather and sweating until I got a bad cold. I missed work today so I posted a diary. What a mistake! Everyone wanted to argue. I finally gave up until I felt that someone was accusing me of posting a charity scam! I received several private emails from others that I didn't know telling me that they didn't like others comments. Oh well. Sometimes I try to venture out of SMGB and look what happens. I can just stay here in get in trouble instead! :-)

                  •  Honestly... (5+ / 0-)

I thought it was good to bring up the overhead costs.  With money tight, people, even when giving to charity, will want their dime to go as far as possible!

I heard a great story from my bird vet today.  She told me that her brother, who lives in the town next to me, was out from work like the rest of us because of the power outage and transit all screwed up.  So being a surfer, he was pretty tight with the long beach community.  He called up friends and others for donations, was able to amass 15k.  Then he went to Long Beach and was going door to door.  What do you need? I will go and buy it and bring it to you.  He said people were NOT greedy, they would ask for the utmost basics, like flashlights, propane stoves, small gas grills, paper plates... Stuff like that.  Then he got guys together to simply start helping with the physical stuff, like digging the sand out from the basement of an old man.  Said it took six guys all day to do that!

But because this was a short cause, it"s not like he was running a charity.  He took nothing from the proceeds of course, and every penny wet directly to those who were in need.

It's just the nature of the DKos beast for someone to find something to poopoo about. It's similar to knowing you're on the right track when you piss off republicans except this time the grumps are the DKos naysayers.

So where do I send you my check to and do I make it out to "GUG" or "Missys Brother" or should I just make it out to "cash?"

Cash is better so it can't be traced. :-)

I couldn't believe how brutal some can be. Catte Nappe just wouldn't let go and three others also. I hate that others here can be so mean spirited. If I can ever get my act together I have a couple of other diaries I would like to do. I cannot imagine anyone wanting to argue over plaster!

I just returned from Buddhas house. I decided to place them on her sun porch as she has close neighbors. (pic below of the deed) She wouldn't care what they think but I do. They are extremely well made of some type of solid rubber with hangers on the back. I remember last Jan or Feb seeing them lying by the road in front of a house on my road and posted about them here. Everyone convinced me to go back and get them. I am glad I did. My phone will be ringing soon  ......10....9......8......7......6

I have a key to Buddha's house as I feed her cats when she is gone and etc. One day I ran across a beautiful painting of a subject matter that I knew she would love and it was dirt cheap. I went to her house and removed a print from her wall in the sun room and hung the painting. Later she was thanking me for it etc and I said how did you know that I had done it since the sun room was unlocked. She said that I was the only person she knew that would break into someone's house and hang paintings. :-) She and I still have hearty laughs over that.
