why do people like you go around bemoaning the length of his pre-trial period when we all know his own attorneys were part of that? What purpose does it serve, other than to piss off some people who don't know what actually happened? It's just intellectually dishonest, and while an effective tactic, one i am used to seeing republicans deploy.
    1. I was taught that everyone is entitled to a fair and speedy trial.

    2. I know little of what is happening with Manning. Except that his right to a speedy trial, has been denied.

    3. Duh, what kind of government even in a military prison treats someone with Manning's charges, (though his actions could have had severe consequences, they didn't), so badly?

This treatment, like depriving him clothing, and all that other stuff. What does this even accomplish?

People would be plenty angry if this happened to them and no one cared to notice or protest!

    4. I am a Democrat all my life. And my Parents were Democrats before me.

    5. What do you mean, "People like you"? I am in no way dishonest. Intellectually or otherwise.

The fact is that his own counsel is responsible for most of the delay. They asked for it. It was granted. So remove it from your list of grievances (or give up the moral high ground).

The only real grievance here is his treatment. I know that some here think he is a hero and all that, should have been released right away or never arrested, but that is just silly. He admitted to violating the law, and will serve many years in prison if he did what he said he did. That is clear.
