    There have been papers and conferences on this for years.

    Just because folks outside of the insurance industry  (laypeople) aren't aware of these things aren't going on doesn't mean they're not going on.

    Even without going behind industry site paywalls, a simple google search reveals lots of activity that has been in the works for a long time.

    I'm not an apologist for the insurance industry. There is lots that it does very poorly. And much that it does that is wrong. But I also believe in giving credit where it's due.

      I wasn't referring to the insurance industry but, re-reading it, it does sound like that. I was referring to corporations in general. When the bottom line gets hurt they notice—but as long as they don't pay a price...
