  •  Even here in the Southeast it is not as cold or as (8+ / 0-)

    wet as it should be. As was the case with many parts of the country, we had no winter last year. My highest electric bill was about $100. The winter before that they were double or more.

    I can remember growing up in western North Carolina when the ski resorts were open by Thanksgiving and by Christmas the students at Appalachian State could nearly walk out of the second floor of the dormitories onto the snow. I can remember when it got cold in late October and stayed cold until early April. No more. Now its warm days and cold days with little snow and scarcely more rain.

    Global warming and climate change are quite real, and I suspect if we haven't already passed the point of no return, it is upon us.

    The loudest cries for war come from those who have never seen one.
