    (Yes, I drink tea) a bazillion years ago when I got married. I've used it maybe 20 times. A sauce pot is just as good, traditionally speaking.

    And for saving energy, the microwave heats water fastest of all. So I usually nuke water unless I''m making a big batch for a  pound or more of pasta, potatoes, crab, etc.  Yes, I use an extra bowl in theory, but I just wipe dry and back into the cupboard it goes.  

    That hardly counts.
