  •  There will be blowback (12+ / 0-)

if Bloomberg goes ahead with this.

I hope that the residents of NYC push back against this, as they have the most influence in this situation. But outside voices are needed too.

It would be good if we could get some more sources on this, a whistleblower would be great, and an official statement from the mayor's office is needed.

Not that the rank and file NYPD for FD have much  say in anything but Occupy Sandy has been helping them in their neighborhoods too.  I hope that they speak up.

This fiscal kabuki is sucking all of the oxygen out of the room and the hurricane Sandy victims take a backseat to this manufactured crisis and that is almost criminal, if you ask me.  At least with Katrina, the media stayed on the story for some reasonable period of time.  The blogosphere stayed on it for a long, long time.  But with Sandy, it's been drowned out first by the election and now by this stupid fake crisis.  Where are the people who helped the victims of NOLA get their message out?  Where are the people who stood up for NOLA?

Where is the media? There are people who STILL do  not have power and it is almost Christmas. What is happening with that. What is happening with FEMA. Apparently it is doing SOMETHING but a lot of folks do not know what FEMA can do for them, if I am reading correctly. And the Red Cross? Where in the hell is it?

Bloomberg now, where has he been that he is just now visiting a piece of Rockaway? How come he couldn't talk to the residents? What is his problem? Does he think he is almost out of his term and nobody gives a sh((?

If I were a New Yorker, I would be pissed if I knew. But apparently ignorance is bliss as far as New Yorkers as a main group are concerned.
