. . . . this really came off, to me, as a bunch of finger-wagging at the stupid hippies.

Did you actually mean to imply that Occupy should have already set up a fourth branch of government? And are you seriously upset that it hasn't happened already? Because I have to say that expecting the Occupy Movement to have already enacted Progressive Nirvana, something hundreds of years of struggle has failed to achieve thus far, is ridiculous.

Occupy changed the national conversation, something our beknighted liberal blogosphere had failed to do for over a decade.

To call the movement out like this because they didn't set up a fourth branch of government is nuts, imo.

Being a Clevelander, I know him from way back. What he does now in his most wacky incarnation (which is very far from being the mayor of Cleveland) is push the discussion open wide. Every time he pushes the line over a little too far for the mainstream, he gives the rest of more room for action.  That's why every time he runs for something, he's getting a contribution from me. While he's busy slamming his head against a brick wall , the rest of us have a chance to figure out how to pick the locks.  (I would say crash the gate, but Kos never did get Dennis).
