  •  This is what happens when you replace Dem lapdogs (28+ / 0-)

like Lieberman and Ben Nelson with Elizabeth Warren and Chris Murphy.

    A progressive upgrade = a backbone upgrade.

Filibuster reform now. No more Gentleman's agreements.

    •  and apparently replace Obama (3+ / 0-)

with Obama.  NOt sure how we got from first term Obama to second term, but someone seems to have come around to the "fucking retarded" school of thought.

      •  You know how we got there? (8+ / 0-)

You were paying attention to Fantasy Obama put forth by schmucks like Adam Green who had their own agenda instead of Reality Obama.

I realize that in SF it's considered quite fashionable to set your hair on fire, but here in the Midwest, we'd rather wait and see what actually happens.

You're skirting really close to the Donut Horizon with the "Fucking Retarded" crack.

        •  oh, of course (0+ / 0-)

We can safely ignore the pleadings of Midwestern common sense that seems to itself be completely ignorant of what PResident Obama, you know, actually DID in his first term, instead of the random eleventy dimesional hypotheses that bore no reasonable relationship to reality.

And if you want to toss donuts for the use of "fucking retareded" you might want to toss it at your fellow midwesterner Rahm Emmanuel who coined the term to describe what now appears to be a potentially winning strategy.

But I'm getting kind of used to the idea that the rabid Obama partisans engage in regular HR abuse, so I shouldn't be too surprised to see it erupt here as well.

          •  (better not to say it..hurts people's feelings) (0+ / 0-)

whoever says it, whoever it is directed at.
People get confused about PC. To me, having no ego attachment to being right about langauge usage that I think trumps someone's feelings, if someone in a group that is not the majority doesn't like a term, I'm fine with not using it.
Mentally disabled people are put down enough..their condtion makes life harder as it is. If they and their loved ones don't like the use of "retarded" directed at THEM or used in general, I try not to use it.

I grew up  using that word so occasionally I slip up. But I correct self.

    •  And what we need to do now is make Democratic (2+ / 0-)

ideals the "norm" for the country, and let a truly progressive wing become strong.

The Tea Party II will help us eliminate the Republican Party from consideration and usefulness in the 21st century.  Let's give America the choice between center-left and left.

"Privatize to Profitize" explains every single Republican economic, social and governing philosophy. Take every taxpayer dollar from defense, education, health care, public lands, retirement - privatize it, and profit from it.
