  •  Because guns have the (0+ / 0-)

potential to do such fatal and serious damage from a distance and depending upon what type of gun can cause death and injury to numbers of people. . .from a distance.  It seems very cowardly to me.  And it takes some sort of personal interaction if you stab someone or beat them to death and the chance of you doing that to several people at the same time seems quite remote.

People want to hunt or target shoot or other type of recreational shooting. . .fine with me.  Hopefully they are mostly of sane mind and don't have serious anger issues or drug or alcohol problems.

I had my fill of guns when I was 19 and worked at the records bureau of the local Police Department.  I was continually sickened by the officers coming in and giving me their reports of the 3 year old who shot and killed his 2 year old sister, the father who accidently shot and killed his teenaged son who was sneaking back in his bedroom window after an unauthorized fun night out.  The guy who accidentally shot and killed his best friend of 30 years while they were out hunting. . .etc. etc.  All real incidents that I had to type up reports on from the investigating officers.

Most all of them were from guns that were supposedly not loaded.  It became just way too much for me to hear, over and over again.

Anyone want guns. . .they are welcome to them.  Just not for me.
