is the most conspicuously overlooked part of the whole "Benghazi-gate" drama.

It's clear to me that the CIA had operations in Libya it didn't want discovered to be CIA operations. It's clear the Republicans have blown this up as thoroughly as they knew how. It's clear that men like McCain and Graham are either too stupid or too corrupt to admit this and shut up before they do more damage.

Where's the fucking news media on this rather obvious angle?

    It's absurd.

--unlike the Republican "leaders"--did put national security first, (at least briefly) when News Outlets Held Back Detail Of Benghazi Attack At CIA's Request

But the CIA's request to keep details out of the news didn't stop the Republicans from going before worldwide TV cameras and demanding immediate and public details.  It didn't stop Fox republican propaganda network from tipping off the world (and endangering CIA operatives in Libya).

Meanwhile, the media isn't asking the GOPers the tough questions:  Why are you publicizing details of covert missions, covert operatives, and covert locations instead of in the interests of national security, keeping these questions where they belong--in closed security sessions?

And I think it involves the key GOP players, John McCain and Lindsey Graham, having their involvement in working with Qadhafi become public knowledge. I'd say this is especially sensitive for Graham, who will no doubt be facing a primary challenge here in South Carolina when he stands for reëlection.

How did the Libyan revolution spoil these mens' plans, is probably what we ought to be asking.
