I agree with most of what you said. I have a lot of criticisms of Israel, but some of the rhetoric here and on other liberal forums borders on anti-Semitism and it makes me uncomfortable. Criticizing Israel does not make you anti-Semitic, but I think the derogatory use of the word "Zionist" crosses the line, as does accusing a United States Senator of being more loyal to Israel than the US merely because he is an orthodox Jew (when his views are no more pro-Israel than most of Congress). I saw a post the other day on DU that claimed that there was no difference between what Israel was doing and what the Nazis did, which really offended me.

Even my grandmother, who was an atheist and very critical of Israel, felt uncomfortable at some of the anti-Iraq War rallies that she attended because of the language that was used by some speakers critical of Israel.

    •  History of I/P diaries on DK not glowing! (0+ / 0-)

I think that we can agree that it is the incredibly rare I/P diary that does NOT devolve

      The diarist:

If people think I should be more interested in Israel, and writing more about my opinions, I'd be interested in why you think so.
My advice to the diarist - stick with Your gut and avoid I/P
