  •  The Mormon aspect of his candidacy never did (14+ / 0-)

garner enough attention/examination.  Mormons are taught/brainwashed from birth that they are the "chosen" and their cult dogma is supreme doctrine.  As a church high priest (for life), Romney's Mormonism would have taken precedence above all else, even as POTUS.  They are taught to obviscate and confuse any and every discussion regarding the cult and that lying to outsiders is permitted, even encouraged.  I can't count the number of times that I've been told that I'm confused by Mormons while discussing/debating their beliefs.  I've yet to see an active Mormon on this site even attempting to engage anyone.

Mormonism IS a threat to our country and if I had to come down on any side of the discussion, I'd even call them the anti-Christ.

    •  If Mormonism "worked" (8+ / 0-)

according to prophecy, Mitt would have been elected in a previous campaign. Running again would have made no sense.

    •  Mormons (0+ / 0-)

Many considered Jesus to be a cult leader. That's why it was so easy to frame Him. And, He FORGAVE them.

    •  My goodness, there is a lot to unpack in (3+ / 0-)

      your comment.

1st, name me a main line church that doesn't consider itself to be the "true" church. Have you ever looked at Catholics and their "infallible" Pope?

2nd, Mitt is an elder in the church (all men basically are) has been a bishop, and as an older former bishop is a high priest. I'm linking to this wiki article because it is accurate as far as I can see in laying out the order of priest, elders, quorums, ect in the church. Being high priest is, again like a bishop, not a rare thing.

3rd. Lying. No argument, the church leaders lie to the members and the members lie to others. I don't consider the Mormon church to be a very honest institution. (re; Catholic church. Not honest either)

4th I am not an active Mormon, but come from a line of Mormons as long as Mitt's family. I can't let accusations like yours slide. Which brings me to

5th. A threat to the country? The Anti-Christ? Srsly? The Mormon Church does way less damage to the country than any Fundi Christian church does on any day. This is silly.

I guess the anti-Christ is running the Senate, then...
