No, you can't plan out details of rescues in 140 characters.

But you can alert people that there is an issue, and can, I assume, send a link to a discussion thread so that people can find and follow that discussion.

    Please proceed, governor

you understand that. But there are literally millions of people who don't understand that, and who have their hands full with other things, and that's life. All I am saying is that when facebook hears of a case in which they are experimenting that kills animals, they ought to pull the plug on conducting the experiment on that page. They are only doing it on a small number of pages anyway. Do it on ones like mine, where no one gets hurt, and I can leave.

I'm not talking about the business of social media, I'm talking about social responsibility.

But to suggest that people should just switch to something else is not realistic. You can't just get thousands of people on one rescue site to all rejigger how they conduct their online lives.

That said, they are being forced to do just that, and they are - but in the meantime, and it will be a long meantime, dogs are dying all the time. There are dogs this minute with needles in their arms or twitching in gas chambers because of this intransigence on fb's part.

gotomeeting, gchat, g+, texts, in person communication, conference calls....

any business that is this disrupted simply by having FB comments not in chronological order did not plan well.

      •  These are not businesses (0+ / 0-)

These are people trying to save dogs. It is already like sweeping sand off a beach. Nearly half a million a year are killed in LA alone.

This is a goddamned test. It is only being conducted on some pages. Let them do it on the ones, like mine, where no one is hurt, just annoyed.

But to suggest that the millions of people who don't have the time or skills just learn them at the snap of a finger is ridiculous.

        It's not a business, okay?

        •  above you describe it (4+ / 0-)

as an organized group of people carrying out complex orders that have to be done in a certain way....

i stand by my statement above, but if it makes you feel better you can replace the word business with organization, grouping, effort, charity, etc....

i'm all for saving dogs, but calling FB a dog killer because these groups (organizations, people trying to rescue dogs from rescues) can't figure out how to do a mass e-mail or text message or conference call is hyperbole times 1000
