  •  I did the same thing, actually. (5+ / 0-)

too bad I didn't watch TDS way back when.

Only ever had a TeeVee while the kids were growing up, and still almost never watched it.

Now I sometimes watch stuff on-line, but still very rarely.

to economize, and around here TV reception is horrible without it. We've adjusted all right (though my daughter says otherwise), either watching major stuff on line or simply doing without. The only thing I miss is not having something else to do when I'm folding laundry.

      •  You have to buy this thing, I can't remember (4+ / 0-)

what it's called if you have an old TV, cuz now it's all digital.
My TV's are the old kind so I had to get these adapters. For a while the government gave out coupons for them. I wonder if they have them at Goodwill.

Most of my friends have no TV but they have another cheap device that hooks their computer up to the TV so they watch on big screen.

One of my friends before that sat with all 4 members of his family huddles on the couch watching a laptop! ;-)

Tracy B Ann - technically that is my signature.

but I am so technically ignorant I don't know what it's called or how to choose one.
We have small-screened computers, and I guess the rest of the fam is holding out for being able to get a larger flat screen. However, if that's the priority, it's gonna be a while!

      •  The laundry folding: (4+ / 0-)

That is one of the reasons I have a rather sizeable dvd collection, to keep me company while doing mindless housekeeping tasks like folding the laundry :)
