    .. involved with the Whittle Collection in Leicester, and some of the engines and designs were very advanced, although the initial way of sucuring the individual blades to the rotor hub was rather unfortunate. It wasn't until the Rolls-Royce 'fir-tree' blade root profile was introduced that the problem of blade creep was solved!
