  •  I cannot imagine how miserable that would be :(. (17+ / 0-)

I've been in hospital many times (spinal issues) and although I know it's not the same thing at all, the anesthetic sends my stomach into a horrible spiral of acid and later sickness.  We have gotten very good at advocating early and often for intravenous stomach medications.  The one time that these medications fell through the gap, I was in the hospital for three more days just to stabilize that and to stave off dehydration.  Because I was getting so many fluids intravenously, both of my arms began to swell horribly as the IVs blew and they had to bring the best person in the hospital (they called him the Jedi) just to push a new IV.

When I read what she was going through, I just felt an almost sympathetic pain.  That is so horrible to go through and I'm sure that my problems with anesthetic pale compared to what HG can be.

On top of that, can you imagine the stress?  15 countries are changing their Constitutions so that the Duchess's child, if a girl, could be Queen.  That's even more pressure than a pregnant First Lady.  I could not begin to imagine the pressure on her to have a healthy and "picturesque" pregnancy.  Of course, the British press make vultures look chivalrous and will engage in all sorts of horrible behavior to find out the most mundane details  of her private medical records while she's feeling as though her guts are turning inside out.  I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.
