  •  In fairness, there's no guarantee that a later (5+ / 0-)

    pregnancy would have gone better, and it's not as if either of them is too young (physically or emotionally) to be parents.  Sometimes this stuff just happens, and the take-home message is that the medical profession needs to take women's health seriously, not that a married woman in her 20s (?) shouldn't have conceived when she did.

      I'm not saying they weren't ready. Just that it's harder than people think. The theory and the practice can vary widely. Seeing your spouse in the hospital can be very unnerving.

      ... turned 30 on January 9 this year..., she'll be 31 in slightly over a month - and a few months older when the pregnancy reaches term.
