  •  We have an SR and twin-V8 start cart in our museum (6+ / 0-)

    (that would be the Pima Air & Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona). There were two ways to start the SR's engines on the ground, I'm told. I believe the driveshaft method was primary, but they could also be started with a Palouste. That would make sense from a strange field/transient alert point of view: you wouldn't want to land at Podunk AFB and not be able to start again until someone trucked in a twin V-8 start cart all the way from Beale or Edwards.
