    substance.

That said, i don't happen to particularly like Rice because I don't really appreciate her investments in dirty energy. I suspect, however (but don't know this), that other competitors for this job may well hold similar investments. And for the same reason, I probably wouldn't like them, either.

These kinds of investments say to me a great deal about how one views the world, regardless of what party one may belong to.

    •  Right, John Kerry has about the same money in (4+ / 0-)

tar sands as Rice, about 1-2 million.

      But you know whats worse?

John Boehner has as much as 365k in tar sands companies, 8 of them, and his PAC also takes campaign donations from the same companies.

        Boehner being SOS.

ls it safe to say that people that chose to invest in the demise of the planet really shouldn't get ANY credence from us? If these were little boo boos, that would be one thing. But they aren't.

      Re: your point on source.

There are many right wing figureheads who I almost automatically discard the things they have said, having becoming familiar with their habitual lying.

I was not familiar with the quoted figures, and took the diarist at his word.  Others have come forward with information that makes them look much less knowledgeable or trustworthy.
